NOSTALGIA? WHY NOT...

It seems everyone is at it these days. Oasis announce they are reforming (full lineup or just the two brothers? Nobody really made that clear), Croc is getting a remaster for consoles, everyone still loves disco...

We here at Evo aren't averse to a nice bit of nostalgia. In fact, we still listen to the music from some of the bands we have featured over the years as they are just that good.

Not every musician has had the chance to make it to "the big time", and sometimes bands don't even last longer than a summer jam session. But you will probably find those bands made some great music before they split due to musical differences/got too drunk during a gig/fell out over money/got pissed off with not getting any recognition after two weeks together/couldn't deal with the raging egos in the collective... The list goes on.

The point is, there's still great music out there that you may not know about. And why does everything have to be "new! shiny!"? We have featured lots of bands on Evo that may or may not still be going strong, but it doesn't mean the music is any less quality.

Why not have a peruse through the artists listed on the site and if they still have active links to their music, check them out. If they don't, why not seek out some more info on what happened to the band? You may find the musicians are now doing something else you might be interested in.

It is a pleasure to announce to everyone that The Big Sit In is back, it's bigger, better, and our chosen spot is a little further west!

We are buzzing to tell you all that on 15th September 2018 we are partnering with our good friends and will be throwing it down all day in Glasgow's east end hotspot, Saint Luke's & The Winged Ox. As an area which has so much to offer across the board in music, we cannot wait to be part of it.

Expect everything you loved about last year plus more. Our line up is coming soon, as well as some surprise partnerships to make the day as weird and wonderful as possible. Spread the word, tickets to go on sale soon.

The Big Sit In is happening on Sunday 28th May!

The Big Sit In is happening on Sunday 28th May! Edinburgh's newest micro-festival is here and will be a 14 hour live showcase held between Lebowskis Edinburgh and Henry's Cellar Bar.

A unique partnership will be inviting a long list of Scotland's creative minds to perform live at the event, which is all in aid of Nordoff Robins.

With three stages and over 30 artists - The Garden, The Cellar and The Lounge will have a diverse line up between them for all enthusiasts, and it just wouldn't be a sit in without some unique curve balls thrown in to keep the mind dancing.

Expect spoken word, indie, electronic and more, as The Big Sit In prepares to be the day you remember as the first of Summer.
