JAPANFOUR
We loved this band as soon as we heard them. They've somehow managed to package up just the type of music that we here at Evo4 love to pump up and dance around the room to, when in fact we should really be writing articles such as this.
Starting in their teens, essentially unable to play instruments but determined to create music and forming themselves into a punk band, Japanfour have grown up together as musicians, mastering their skills and developing a deep love for everything Rock n Roll.
Maintaining their punk ethos, and creating blues influenced Rock, inspired by every decade of music from the blues of the early 20th century through to the 60's garage and psychedelia up to 90's grunge and Brit pop. JapanFour are determined to turn the indie scene upside down, and defeat misconceptions of what it means to be a an 'unsigned' band.
Take for example, the track Francis which brings back memories of Mooney Suzuki before they sold out and Sammy James Jr went away and did some pop songs. Or (Better) The Devil You Know which is a dirty, grungy, muddy psychadelic dancealong little number.
But this feature is not about these tracks, oh no. It's about their brand spanking new one, Exile which will be launched on 7th December at Edinburgh's Caberet Voltaire.
Rather than try and say any more than we have already, just take a listen. It's the best yet, in our humble opinion.
You can also purchase a copy of Exile to keep and have forever from JapanFour's Bandcamp page: http://japanfourband.bandcamp.com/
Go get listening. You won't be disappointed.
