NO EGOS

No Egos are a 4-piece alternative rock band from Dundee, formed as an idea in 2010 by James Keegans, who had been performing as a solo artist, had been trying to form a band to evolve his acoustic songs and take them to the next level... After a year of writing, jamming and a lineup change, the band was completed. We spoke to Keegs to find a bit more about the band...

The whole ethos of the band, No Egos, stemmed from each band member's past experience. All of our previous bands ultimately imploded because one member thought they were better than the rest of the band and were more interested in how they looked than how they sounded. We try to stick to our strengths - writing catchy, melodic, chorus driven songs - and having a good time whilst we do it. Practice is practice and hard work whereas gigs are the enjoyable, expressive part of being a musician. No Egos is basically a shortened name for 'no over-inflated egos' or 'no pricks'

Having released our first 2 EPs a year apart, we are planning on hitting the studio in January to record our album for a Summer release. We are also looking on gigging around Scotland solidly for the whole of next year whilst going on a mini-tour (preliminary 5 dates) around the UK to promote the album.

We are a band with big dreams and high hopes as we have faith in our music and our live performance and, most importantly, we're learning and improving all the time. Live shows are where we get our kick and it drives us to keep at it.

Thanks to Keegs for taking the time to talk to us.
