MAIR

We first started working with MAIR back in 2012. Even though it's only been just over a year since then, such a lot has happened with the band, and there's a lot of excitement for the future.

EVO4:

So the band have been pretty in 2013, what have the highlights been?

For me there have been three standout moment's of the past year. 1, the crazy weekend that was lesfest. 2, the final of m2m. 3, the other crazy weekend that was BOA. Funny thing is they all happened in quite a short period of time, we had about 4 different sets worked out for different kinds of gigs. The first time we had ever needed to do that so it was good experience. Del Wilson

EVO4:

And to add to all that, you've also had to replace Den on drums?

Not going into any details about Den leaving. But the decision was made and it feels like the best one for both parties. It was always going to be hard to get a new drummer, we knew that and I think everyone had a moment of worry. But we were lucky, thank fuck we ordered that pizza or we would never have met Frazer. Dominos really does do everything you could want on a pizza Del Wilson

EVO4:

okies... so what's this pizza story? Sounds intriguing!

We were at practice one day and I had a dominos 2 for 1 voucher. We got some ginger bottles together and ran to the shop. An hour later the guy knocks at the door with our pizzas. We get chatting and we tell him we don't have a drummer, wouldn't you know it he was a drummer... he was rank rotten, anyway the pizza. So I go to throw the boxes in the bins outside, I'm just walking back inside when someone grabs me round the neck. Before I know it we are back in the studio and I've got a gun to my head with this guy screaming at the other guys I'm the fucking drummer right. A few beers and a game of twister later, we sealed his induction with a nutella covered hamshake Del Wilson

EVO4:

I'm guessing this might be a slight fabrication of the truth Del?? Although I wouldn't be shocked if not.... Anyways...Fraser, so MAIR? How's that? What background in music do you have? Played with anyone else?

Was well excited for the audition practiced the songs up in ma parents loft for few weeks much to their despair lol!! Was so happy to get the gig! Looking toward till next year for live shows etc!! I started playin when I was about 13, been in bands since then. Most recent band was Killing Spree; great guys and we had a great time until bass player left for Singapore! Big thanks again to all at MAIR for seeing me and givin me the role as drummer!!!! Fraser Dominick

EVO4:

MAIR, what's next? Can we expect a slight change in sound?

Well we will be spending the next wee while getting back up to speed and then in the new year kicking off our gigging so we will keep everyone posted. I dont think the sound will change but we are definitely a tighter outfit and with a new found lease of life - change is as good as you handle it and personally it has provided us a fresh perspective and we can now focus on the mair sound with energy. Davy Wilson

We're really closing a chapter and starting a fresh one with more groove, blazing drums and generally a tighter well rounded sound Davy Wilson

Thanks to Davy, Del, Andrew, Miranda and Fraser for taking the time to have a yarn with us. Look out for MAIR in the future.
